‘The Pioneer Exchange’ will provide an exciting opportunity for individuals to explore their vocational ministry within a programme of tailored learning, and by working with local Churches to pioneer new initiatives in both traditional and Fresh Expression of Church contexts within the Diocese of Ely.

We are looking to employ six enthusiastic people to serve as Pioneer Partners for 1or 2 years in a rural or urban placement, to experience parish ministry and to start a pioneering project as part of The Pioneer Exchange.

Get paid £20,000 a year to
explore your pioneer vocation!

PROJECT LEADERS

how will the PIONEER EXCHANGE work?

Successful applicants will work alongside ordained and lay teams to serve in the ministry of a local Church. Two placements will allow the applicant to choose to apply for a Youth Ministry focus engaging with 11-18s.

Applicants will be asked to indicate placement preferences, and if successful at interview will be offered a specific parish location and a full time role of 35 hours per week including some weekends and evenings over a 1 or 2 year period. They will receive an annual income of £20,000 with statutory sick pay, pension contributions and holiday entitlement. Work expenses, and the cost of training and two annual retreats will be met by the scheme.

SUCCESSFUL APPLICANTS WILL BENEFIT FROM:

  • Line Management by a local Church leader
  • Coaching on a termly basis by a Vocations Adviser.
  • A full and immersive training programme which will explore vocation, discipleship, and leadership as well as pioneering and Fresh Expressions of Church.
  • The opportunity to create their own learning track tailored to their specific interests.

They will be invited to pitch for funding from our Local Mission Project Fund to kick start or rejuvenate a pioneering project that they will lead on in their placement parish supported by a facilitated Action Learning Set.

WHO IS THE PIONEER EXCHANGE FOR?
